The Continental Divide has torn apart more families than Thanksgiving, wild dogs, and Family Feud combined. Mend some fences, bond with estranged friends and family, and let mud heal your gaping emotional wounds at The Dirty Dash Colorado.
Though you’re more than welcome to brave the course alone, just like therapy and hugs, it’s better in groups…and it generally ends with tears of joy muffled in your best friend’s meaty shoulder.
Leave your golf pants and tennis skirts at home—there ain’t no etiquette here. We despise proper grammar, clean bodies, and good hygiene. Instead of a polite golf clap, we expect a bellow that will shake Pike’s Peak. Instead of freshly-lotioned, clean-shaven faces, we expect beards, ‘staches, and mutton chops…except for the ladies. And if you even think about ending a sentence with a preposition…..wait, no…that one’s OK.
You’ve proven by living in Colorado that you defy basic laws of biology: you don’t need oxygen to function. Now defy the basic laws of running and relationships: push your friends in the mud, drag their names through it, and sling it like your favorite Congressman. The Dirty Dash will take you and your friends to a Rocky Mountain High that doesn’t require an intervention or a visit from a friendly DEA agent…but don’t blame us for the withdrawals when you’re done.

Race Day Info
Course Length: About 3.1 miles
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 22nd and 23rd from 11 am to 7 pm both days. Location details coming soon.
Preferred Accommodations
Coming Soon!
Parking
Parking for The Dirty Dash will be at lots at Pikes Peak Int'l Raceway. Parking attendants will direct you where to park. Plan on arriving at least 45 minutes to 1 hour early to avoid parking or traffic issues and for as much as you love gas prices, we strongly recommend CARPOOLING—PLEASE, PLEASE CARPOOL.
AND BRING YOUR ID. For those over 21 interested in making the trail a bit harder to follow, we’ve got the Beer Chug Obstacle (or root beer for those who don’t want to drink or who are under 21—either way, the foam goes straight to your brain).
HOWEVER, in order to get a beer when you get to the obstacle, you ABSOLUTELY MUST get a wristband at the event before your wave starts by showing your ID. No ID = No Wristband = No Beer.
Photos
We don’t want you to destroy your latest, greatest electronic devices during the race so we’ll have photographers from Flo-Foto present taking pictures throughout the race as well as at the finish line. Photos will be available a couple days after the race for pretty ‘durn’ affordable prices and are searchable by bib number or last name. Click HERE to go to their site.
If you want to go it alone, we recommend a good buddy trotting along side you, a zip lock bag to keep your camera safe and mud free, and slow shutter speeds.
Shoe Donation
Let’s be frank: your shoes are going to be a muddy mess after the race and if you want to do some good rather than taking hours with a toothbrush to clean them off, don’t even bother cleaning them one bit cuz our charities will be accepting shoe donations by the showers. All of these shoes will be used to help the less fortunate in the US and in developing countries.
Piglet Plunge
The Piglet Plunge will be the highlight of your child's summer, their storied running careers and potentially their existence to this point. They must be over age 2 and under age 12 to run in the kids' race and you’ve got to accompany them the whole way.
The Piglet Plunge will be about 1 mile and will include some of the best obstacles to ensure a thoroughly muddy child: the Slop n' Slide, the Hog Wash and the Pig Sty. All children must be respectful of other children, pushing or splashing will result in being removed from the kids' race area for the day and subject to grounding at their parents’ discretion.
You’ll need to sign a waiver for them before they receive a sweet Dirty Dash Tattoo (temporary of course) to show that they can participate on race day. The Piglet Plunge will begin at 3:00 pm (80 minutes after the final adult wave starts).

Charity
At the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Our vision: the YMCA is the leader in improving the quality of life and nurturing lifelong development of healthier individuals, families and community. We make a positive impact for kids, families, and our community.
Being healthy means more than being physically active. It's about maintaining a balanced mind, body and spirit. The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities. At the Y, it's not about the activity you choose as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.
There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy living and strengthen community. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. Thanks to the generosity of those who donate to our Community Support Campaign, the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region has never turned anyone away regardless of income.
